GRIFFIN-Claude Ellis Griffin, age 72, of Warrenville, S.C., son of the late Leroy Griffin, Sr. and the late Lillie Pearl Smithy Griffin, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He is survived by his life partner of 34 years, Diane Glover; a son, Scottie Alan (Leasa) Griffin of Warrenville, S.C.; a daughter, Kim (Glenn) Houser of Aiken, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Susan Griffin of Butler, Ga.; a sister Joretta (Durwood) Jones of Cocoa, Florida; nine grandchildren, Candy Williams, Amber Kelly, Brittanie Dabbs, Brittany Rearden, Cassie Ray, Christopher Carson, Robert Griffin, Rusty Griffin and Joshua Houser and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Claude Edward Griffin. He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He retired from SRS as a Heavy equipment operator with 17 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood Operation Engineers Local #470. He was a recent convert to Christ. He was a loving companion, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during his lifetime here on earth. He has finished life’s journey and is now at peace with his Maker, the Lord Jesus Christ. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Thursday evening, December 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held at Bath First Baptist Church in Bath, S.C. on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Chaplain Dexter Lambert and Deacon Tommy Adair officiating. The interment will follow at the Langley Cemetery in Langley, S.C. The Pallbearers will be John Wood, Delvin Payton, Robert Griffin, Christopher Carson, Josh Houser and DeWayne Jennings.
