Christine McCarty Simmons

Christine McCarty Simmons, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Sunday February 2nd, 2020 at her home in Sevierville, Tennessee.

She is survived by her son, Jimmie (Debra) Chitty; daughter, Mitzi (Gene) Walker; sister, Janet (Bari) Thomas; grandchildren, Amy, Jeremy, Joseph and Julie Walker, Dana Williamson, Sherry Wilson and Chris Adkinson; nineteen great grandchildren; nieces, Tara (John) Kramer, Courtney Thomas, Meridith (Matt Woodson) Thomas, Jamie Thomas (Koree) Garrett.

She is preceded in death by her parents Capers and Ruby Posey McCarty; and one great grandchild.

Ms. Simmons was a lifelong resident of Graniteville, South Carolina and worked in the mill for Graniteville Company. She proudly served her country in the United States Army. She had a great love for cats and family. She was especially fond of her cat "Callie Cole". She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday February 10th, 2020 in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 3pm with Pastor Chris Williams and Rev. Mark Etchison officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
