Christine Wood Conaway

December 31, 1969 — February 1, 2011

CONAWAY-Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, Mrs. Christine Wood Conaway, age 64 of Aiken, S. C., beloved wife of Michael E. Conaway and daughter of the late Elzy “Dave” Wood and the late Earline Redd Wood. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Patrick “Rickey” Conaway and his wife, Dianne of Aiken, S. C.; a brother, Leland “Tootie” Wood and his wife, Dorothy of Aiken, S.C.; three grandchildren, Ryan Conaway, Kristi Conaway and Ashley Conaway. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Wood. She was born in and was a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S. C. She was a member of the Warrenville Church of God. She taught Sunday School at the Warrenville Revival Center for years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister; and next to God, she always put her family first in her life. She was a soft spoken, sweet and polite “Humble Angel.” Needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by her family and many friends and all whose lives she touched during the 64 years that God granted her on this earth; however, life for Christine has not ended, she has just made a transition to her new Heavenly home. Earth’s loss is truly Heaven’s gain, because Christine is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and is shouting on the “Hills of Glory.” A celebration of her life service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Kelley officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Ryan Conaway, David Coursey, Corey Collins, Tracey Daniels III, Raymond Wood and Scott Saul. The family will receive friends at her brother’s (Leland “Tootie”) residence or at the funeral home, Thursday evening, February 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials, in Christine’s honor, may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, S. C. 29204. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S. C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements. You can visit the online guest register at www.napierfuneralhomeinc.com
