Charles R. Whisenant

December 31, 1969 — September 12, 2014

WHISENANT-Charles R. Whisenant, age 84, of North Augusta, S.C., loving husband of Ellen Gunter Whisenant and son of the late William P. Whisenant and the late Lola Mae Fulmer Whisenant, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 12, 2014. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert Whisenant; daughters, Alice Fallaw, Peggy Smith and Jackie Whisenant; sisters, Ellen (Ted) Arthur, Jean Bahlhorn, Gail (Sonny) Simpson; grandchildren, Brandon Whisenant and Bryan Fallaw. He was born in Graniteville, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clearwater, S.C., where he was also a dedicated member of the Men’s Sunday School Class He retired from Hathaway Corporation as an iron and steel worker. He was a US Army Veteran, having bravely served his country during World War II. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who shall be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched during the 84 precious years that God granted him on this earth; however, death is not the end as God has promised eternal life for all who believe in Him. He has finished his journey and is now at peace with his Maker. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening, September 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and home going will be held at the First Baptist Church of Clearwater, S. C. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 3:00 PM with Rev. John Bolin officiating. The interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, Ga. The Pallbearers will be Danny McIntosh, Gage McIntosh, Wayne Nappier, Ed Garrett, Chris Goff and Patrick Simpson.
