Charles R Richardson

RICHARDSON-Charles Raymond Richardson, son of Louise Johnson Richardson and the late Raymond H. Richardson, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Center. He was 63 years old. Charles was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Aiken, S. C. his entire life. He worked for the South Carolina Employment Security Commission for 37 ½ years. He worked mostly in Aiken, Columbia, Greenville and Charleston. He loved hunting and fishing, and he was especially endeared to older people; especially his grandparents. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two aunts, Zelma Smith of Aiken and Helen Roberts of Savannah, Ga. He was predeceased in death by his twin brother, Carl Johnson Richardson and his wife, Carolyn Blanton Richardson. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Robert W. Riley and Rev. Steve Gillette at Napier Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 3:00 PM. The interment will follow at Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Robert Toole, Andy Edwards, Robert Cato, Henry A. Hayes, John Gregory and Bill Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Henderson Johnson, John Shealy, Robert Patton, Rev. Eddie Penland, Earl Sizemore, Rev. W. H. Bryant and any member of his 1964 graduating class of Aiken High School is also invited to serve. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, prior to the service on Thursday. If so desired, memorials may be made to Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Pepper Hill Nursing Care and Aiken Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care that was given to their dear loved one during his illness.
