AUTRY-Mr. Carry “Lightning†Autry, age 66, of Batesburg, S.C., loving husband of Peggy N. Autry and son of the late Velmon E. Autry and the late Ellen Amanda DeLozier Autry, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sons, Donald “Skeet†DeLoach, Martin E. DeLoach and Rocky Oswald all of Batesburg, S.C.; a daughter, Laurie Glenn of Clearwater, S.C.; brothers, Larry (Avis) Autry of Pittsboro, N.C. and James (Barbara) Autry of Augusta, Ga.; six grandchildren, several adopted grandchildren. and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Havre-DeGrace, Maryland but has been a resident of the local area for the past 46 years. He graduated from Lakes High in Tacoma, Washington and attended college in Chicago and Augusta. He was an electrician with Inglett-Fishben Company for 40 years. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World. You might say that he was an avid collector; collecting bottles, books of all sorts, which he so kindly donated to the Veterans. He really enjoyed walking on the beach and looking for shark’s teeth. He also loved antique cars and trains. He enjoyed working with pottery. Yes, he was an orginal American Picker and along with all these hobbies, he was a loving husband, dad and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched along the way; however, death is not the end; he has just made a transition to his new Heavenly home. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Mr. Abe Manfredonia officiating. The entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Langley, S.C. The pallbearers will be Zach DeLoach, Jason Autry, Chris Dexter, Tony Nappier, Neal Nappier, Whitney Nappier, Josh Nappier and Will Blackwell. The family will receive friends at Tina Blackburn’s, residence at 620 Old Sudlow Lake Rd. in North Augusta, S.C. or at the funeral home this Friday evening, February 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
