Carolyn Smith Davis

DAVIS-Ms. Carolyn Smith Davis, age 68, of Beaufort, S.C., daughter of the late William Andrew Smith and the late Gladys Lee Neathawk Smith, entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, 2013. She is survived by a son Joel D. (Debra) Carroll; a daughter, Jodi C. (Joey) Herrin; sisters, Diana (Jim) Farah and Linda (Wayne) Lewallen; grandchildren, Christy (Doug) Rankin, Thomas J. “T. J.” Herrin, II, Jesse Carroll, Dana Carroll and one great grandchild, Natalie Rankin. She was born in Newport News, Va., but had lived in Aiken County for many years prior to relocating to Beaufort, S.C. to live with Jodi, Joey and T.J. She retired from Powell and Poston attorneys in Aiken, S.C. as a Legal Secretary. She was a member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church Bible Study at Village Senior in Warrenville, S.C. She was a very intelligent friendly lady with a great personality. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 68 years that God granted her on this earth; however; death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of our family and loved ones. A service celebrating her life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. Joel Carroll will be giving the Eulogy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at the Vaucluse Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Robert Kim, Sammie Bell, Larry Tyler, T. J. Herrin, Jesse Carroll and Doug Rankin. Memorials, in Carolyn’s honor, may be made to Aiken SPCA, 401 Wire Rd., Aiken, S.
