HYDRICK-Billy L.“Duke” Hydrick, age 90, of Aiken, S.C., son of the late Billy Louie Hydrick and the late Gladys Waller Hydrick, entered into rest at his residence on Monday, November 28, 2016. He is survived by sons, Louie (Sherry)Hydrick and Richard (his daughter, Cheyanna) Hydrick; a daughter, Angela (Blaine)Poole; a brother, Charles Parrish; sisters, Jeanette Cain, Mary Kucera, Lucy Felberg, Nalda Hopkins and Bobbie Jean Mitchum; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Scott Hydrick; a son, Johnny Hydrick, a sister, Shirlene Dudley and a brother, Rudolph Hydrick. He was born in Augusta, Ga. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from Southeastern Clay Co. as a heavy equipment operator with over 40 years of dedicated service. He was a US Army Veteran, having bravely served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an avid deer hunter. His family stated that he was a kind-hearted man who loved everybody, and would literally give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He was a true family man who loved his immediate family with all his heart. This was the same deep love that he had for his wife until her death last year. He will definitely be missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched during the 90 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death cannot destroy precious memories, and he shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. A service, celebrating his life, will be be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park. The Pallbearers will be Patrick Burton, Tyler Hydrick, Cody Robbins, Jimmy Wood, Derek Dutton and David Dutton. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the SPCA, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, S.C. 2980l.
