Mrs. Betty Jean Skillman Stephens, age 74 of Graniteville, S.C., loving wife for 18 years to Gary Stephens and daughter of the late Dennis Skillman and the late Ruby Gay Skillman, entered into eternal rest at Aiken Regional Medical Centers on Friday, May 11, 2018. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons: Henry Usry of Lombard, Illinois, David Usry of Oswego, Illinois and Herbert Skillman of Graniteville, S.C.; daughters: Ada Yaun and Ruby Eshbaugh both of Graniteville, S.C. and Susan Owens of Leesville, S.C.; sisters, Vivian Tapley of Beech Island, S.C. and Della Walden of Thompson, Ga.; brothers, James Skillman of Thompson, Ga., Dennis Skillman of Ga. and Donnie Skillman of Illinois and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born in Augusta, Ga. but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a retired server/manager of the Huddle House. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who loved her family dearly; infact she was a very caring person who was also very giving. She loved her children with all her heart and would do anything she possibly could for them. A woman of her caliber shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 74 years that God granted her on this earth. Death cannot destroy precious memories, and she shall live on forever in the hearts of her loved ones. A service, celebrating her life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Home on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 7:00 PM with Rev. Edward Hardee officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the hour of service. Memorials, in her honor, may be made to the funeral home to assist with the expense of the funeral.
