LEWIS-Mrs. Betty Beard Lewis, age 80, of Warrenville, S.C., loving wife for 64 years to H. D. Lewis and daughter of the late Oscar Beard and the late Mamie Johnson Beard, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 21, 2014. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Diane (Mike) Rowland of Clearwater, S.C. and Debra (Terry) Hickman of Warrenville, S.C.; sisters, Ruby (Arthur) Tinsley of Taylor,S.C., Carolyn (Shirley) Pittman of Perryville, Missouri and Catherine “Bean” (T.C.) Callas of Langley, S.C.; brother, Rev. Leroy (Sandra) Beard of Warrenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Chad (Tonya) Rowland, Andrea (Jason) House, Heather (Chris) Corley, Paige (Chad) Fields, Cole Lewis, Laurie (Bill) Scott, Wendy (Cliff) Kizer; fifteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Lewis of Beech Island, S.C. She was preceded in death by brothers, Geddings Beard, John “Bo” Beard, Lenwood Beard; sisters, Catherine “Kitty” Hall and Eloise Fulmer; a son, Mark; grandchildren, Kimberly Medlock and Ronnie J. Lewis; a son-in-law, Charles “Andy” Medlock. She was born in and was a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. She was a retired weaver with the Hickman Division of Graniteville Company after 43 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Warrenville First Baptist Church and the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She loved her family with all her heart. She also had a deep compassion for her fellowman; when they hurt, she hurt. She was a shop-a-holic, an avid fisherman, and she enjoyed vacationing in the mountains. She shall be greatly missed by her family and friends; however death is not the end, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home, where no more sad goodbyes are ever spoken. She has finished her journey and is now at peace with her maker.The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Monday evening, June 23rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and home going will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. J.B. Redd, Rev. Daryl Adams and Rev. Leroy Beard officiating.The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Wayne Huff, Danny Huff, Bradley Holmes, Brian Beard, Neal Britt, Michael Fulmer, Todd Collum, Daniel Smith and John Seigler. The Deacons of Warrenville First Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 322 Gayle Ave. NW, Aiken, S.C. 29801.
