Betty Gregory Herron

Betty Gregory Herron, age 77, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 14th, 2018. She is survived by her sons, Bobby E. (Donna) Herron Jr., William D. (Denise) Herron, Wilbur E. Herron; daughters, Joyce Frances Herron, Betty Faye Herron (Adam) Culley; sister, Vivian Ann Shooks; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Edward Herron, Sr.; and parents, Cecil E. and Lina Craig Gregory. With a servant’s heart, Ms. Herron, taught Sunday school at the Augusta First Pentecostal church where she was a member for over 40 years. In her early years, she taught domestic skills to young girls at the Girls Center and assisted at Reid Memorial Mother’s Day out. After years of serving the community, she then retired after 22 years of driving the school bus for Richmond County. At the age of 48, Mrs. Herron, inspired many with her decision to go back to High School and get her diploma. She was the oldest graduate from Richmond Academy in 1980. Mrs. Herron enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, Bible studies and being with her family. Her heart for the Lord, endless prayers, and unconditional love will be missed the most by her family and friends. A funeral service celebrating her life will be conducted on Thursday, April 19th, 2018 in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home, at 4 o’clock pm. The interment will immediately follow at The Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, April 18th, 2018 from 7-9pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Stan Moore, Benny L. Herron, Phillip Agerton, Blake Fountain, Ronnie Murphy, Donnie Smith, Jacob Herron and Ben Phillips. The family would like to thank Kenwood and Kindred Hospice for their assistance with helping Mrs. Herron rest comfortably during her last days.
