GROVER-Mrs. Betty Sadler Grover, age 78, of Aiken, S.C., answered God’s call on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Mrs. Grover was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Paul Grover and daughter of the late Charlie Sadler and the late Nellie York Sadler. She is survived by a son, the Rev. Bobby (Carolyn)
Grover; four daughters, Patricia (Roy) Blackwell, Lola (Richard) Szasz and Lois (Doug) James all of Aiken and Paula (Richard) Simanski of Augusta, Georgia; a sister, Virginia Sadler (Eddie) Rhoads of Aiken; a brother-in-law, Sonny O’Barr of Anderson, S.C.; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Sadler O’Barr. She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County; a retiree from Harvey Hubbell and Aiken High School. Mrs. Grover was a born-again-believer, a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken and a long time teacher of the Adult Ladies “Agape†Sunday School Class. A “Celebration of Life†service will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 1:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Brancie Stephens and the Rev. Bobby Grover officiating. The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park. The pallbearers will be grandsons with the “Agape†class members serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Napier Funeral Home Friday evening, May 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Since she was an eight-year melanoma cancer patient, Mrs. Grover had requested memorials be made to the Fellowship Center, 1901 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37916. Mrs. Grover will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
