Rev. Alvin Eugene Lunsford, age 86, beloved husband to the late Mrs. Shirley Baughman Lunsford, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
He is survived by his daughter, Myra L. Bussell (Tommy); son, Vernon E. Lunsford (Susan); seven grandchildren, Tabatha B. Fulmer (Benjamin), Tonya B. Kelley (Jeremy), Eric E. Lunsford (Allison), Kristy L. Harwood (Robert), Shanna L. Paradise (Brian), Cara Beall, Chuck Hurt (Diana); fourteen great-grandchildren, Megan Fulmer, Kevin Fulmer, Layne Kelley, Sarah Lunsford, Emma Lunsford, Ella Lunsford, Hudson Harwood, Ansley Williams, Winston Williams, Jordan Paradise, Brody Paradise, Reagan Beall, Addison Hurt, Ellie Kate Hurt; two sisters Dovie (Gregg) Narehood and Melita (Robert) Metcalf both of N.C.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Lunsford and Lucille Hubbard; brothers, Bill Lunsford and Paul Lunsford, and Sister Mildred L. Bates
He was a current member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Clearwater, SC. In years past, he was the Associate Pastor, Led Music, Sunday School Director, and Director of Bus Ministries at Breezy Hill Baptist Church in Graniteville, SC. He also helped to establish New Testament Baptist Church in Graniteville, SC. Mr. Lunsford was also formerly employed at Kimberly Clark but later became the founder of a local printing company, Graniteville Graphics and then to follow, Quality Printing currently located in North Augusta, SC. He loved his family, printing, and most importantly, the Lord. His family rejoices knowing he is with our Heavenly Father.
A funeral service honoring his life and legacy will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at 3 P.M. at Lakeside Baptist Church in Clearwater, SC with Pastor Tad Marshall officiating. The interment will immediately follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
