Alvin B. Holsenback

December 31, 1969 — August 23, 2015

HOLSENBACK-Alvin B. Holsenback, age 78, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband for 55 wonderful years to Betty Cato Holsenback and son of the late Theodore Holsenback and the late Aleane Morris Holsenback, entered into eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, August 23, 2015. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie (Michael) Baynham of Aiken, S.C.; a son, Bobby Holsenback of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Tollie (Evelyn) Holsenback of Ridge Spring, S.C.; a sister, Helen (John) Willis of Florida; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was born in Edgefield County, S.C. and has been lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He attended North Aiken Church of God. He was a US Air Force Veteran. He was a logger and commercial truck driver for many years. His hobbies included fishing, farming, and his family stated that he just loved to plant everything under the sun, just to see it grow. Yes, you might say that Alvin Holsenback had a “Green Thumb.” He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family and friends; however, death is not the end, as he has just made that great transition to his new Heavenly home where the soul shall never die and no more sad goodbyes will ever be spoken. He has finished life’s journey and is now at peace with his Maker, the Lord Jesus Christ. Earth’s loss is Heaven’s gain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, August 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating his life and homegoing, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Rev. George Tallmage and Rev. Scott Vaughn officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery in Ridge Spring, S.C. The Pallbearers will be Steve Baynham, Robby Holsenback, Jon Holsenback, Eddie Cook, Monty Murrell and Hans Cansler. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829.
