Alton Leonard Abear

Mr. Alton Leonard Abear, born April 1st 1943, of Graniteville, South Carolina passed away on October 26th, 2024 at 81 years of age.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Ann Proctor Abear, daughter Angie Seiler (Chris); Grandchildren: Amanda Seiler-Adams (Ronald), Nicole Coomes, Alex Abear, and Sean Seiler (Emily); Great grandchildren: Nevaeh, Saylor and John Coomes, Atlas and Archer Adams; Brother, James Abear (Janet), sister, Melanie Alison (Mark), and mother-in-law; Lucille Proctor (Jake).

He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Vera Dell Abear, sister, Anita Abear, Carolyn Wingard and her husband Tommy, father-in-law, Jake Proctor, brother-in-law, Steve Proctor, and son, Alton Largan Abear.

Alton owned and operated “Abear Paint & Body” in Graniteville, SC for many years. Alton took pride is raising Alex Abear, both as his grandson and son. He always enjoyed the outdoors, being on the water, 4-wheeling, “shoot’n guns”, growing his garden and partaking in the occasional mischief with his son-in-law, Chris and brother, James. He adored being around his children, grands and great grands. He will be missed dearly by all of his friends and family, but he will always be with us. Rest peacefully, Alton. 

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Mr. Abear on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, at the family home, 518 Whaley Pond Rd. Graniteville, SC 29829, at 3:00 P.M.
