Addie Higgenbottom Bryant

BRYANT-Ms. Addie Higgenbottom Bryant, age 78, of Johnston, S.C., wife of the late Ray Bryant and daughter of the late Oscar W. Higgenbottom and the late Winnie Huff Higgenbottom, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Tony Taylor of Johnston, S.C.; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond & Rhonda Bryant of Saluda, S.C., Dennis and Robin Bryant of Aiken, S.C.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Theda Jean and L. J. Thomas, Jane Ellen & Frank Schibik, Debbie Rose and David Holley, Jewel Nash & David Franklin and Claudine Higgenbottom all of Aiken, S.C.; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Donna Higgenbottom of Johnston, S.C. and Danny Higgenbottom of Texas. She was born in Vaucluse, S.C. but has lived in Johnston, S.C. for the past few years and prior to that she was a resident of Saluda County, S. C. She was retired from Riegel Textile Plant in Johnston. She was a member of Saluda Church of God. She was a devoted wife to her deceased husband, a great mother, grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed cooking for her family and especially baking cakes. The family stated that cooking and baking were her way of relieving her stress. Yes, needless to say, she shall be greatly missed by her family, friends and all whose lives she touched during the 78 years that God granted her on this earth; but “Praise be to God”, she has gone to a better land where there will be no more pain nor sorrow or tears to dm the eyes, for all will be joy in that land. A service celebrating her life and homegoing will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. W. H. Bryant officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery in Vaucluse, S.C. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening, November 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
